2 Years and 3 Months

Another month added to my little guy's age now. He just turns 27 months old today, March 11th. It's very interesting how kids changes everyday and discovers different things. They learn new things and words everyday. I know that Jake is a very good boy but lots of times he misbehaves because of sibling rivalry. I can't blame him to feel that way and we really tried to give him the attention that he needs. He gets jealous with Justine lots of time and he wants our attention all to himself. He hurt Justine just to get our attention not because he wants to hurt her. Every weekend, Justine and I usually got up late in the morning and I always heard Jake looking for his sissy. That only shows he cares for her. Aside from sibling rivalry, Jake is in the stage of what they call terrible twos. He does lots of terrible things that annoyed and pissed us off. Well, this attitudes and behavior are just part of his milestones, eventually it will be change when he start to understand words. To my buckaroo happy 2 years and 3 months birthday! Always remember that Dada and Mama loves you and sissy so very much.

Eat All She Can & 10 Months Old

If you noticed folks that most of Justine's pictures i shared in any of my blog she is always have food in her hand. As parents it's a joy to see our kids eating every thing we put on the table but definitely not happy with the dirt landed inside their tiny mouth. This stage is very common for baby. They put everything into their mouth and doesn't care if that is poop or whatever. According to my Mom, my sister one time was accidentally put her poop inside her mouth. That was really gross I hope Justine won't do that. A bug was enough. I always keep an eye on her because she is very quick though in putting that tiny lent she picked on the floor. Like the one in the photo, she just picked up the stick and onto the mouth it goes. These pictures was taken on Memorial Day when we went to the playground nearby our place. I just have to give her food so she won't pick up dirt.

Oh btw, I almost forgot that today June 3rd marks the 10th month old birthday of my Little lambchop. Wow, she 10 months old now, how time flies.

Milestone: Clapping

Do you recall the proud moment when your baby first learned to clap her hands?

I was gonna post this last month when I took this video but I keep forgetting to upload it on YouTube. Here is my little lambchop having fun discovering the joy of clapping. She'd been doing this when she was still seven months old but not consistent. She followed her Kuya Jake most of the time. And if she sees us clapping for Jake she also clap and mimic us. Clapping and pointing are just a few of the new tricks that my little lambchop finds amazing to do. They love it when you praise them if they clap or point at your nose, eyes or mouth. She wave sometimes though but not consistent.

Some baby start clapping at 7 months and I'm sure this is the proud moment for mommy when they see their baby clapping. It's cute seeing them beamed with glee at her new found skill, and so did the mommy. (Finally! All those rounds of patty-cake paid off!) As with so many of her milestones, your parental pride created a virtuous cycle: She was pleased with herself and saw that you were pleased, too, so she clapped again and again. And each time you reinforced her positive feelings. So what's next for those pudgy little paws? Somewhere near the nine-month mark, she'll reward you with a wave. Keep showing and telling her how to wave bye-bye, and before too long she'll give it a whirl herself. Baby grows so fast so enjoy every single moments with your bundle of joy.

9 Months Old Milestones

My little lamb chop just turned 9 months couple of days ago. Two of her little teethsis are now coming out. She's been eating veggies instead of pureed baby food. She started using kuya Jake's walker if the guardiya sibil is not looking. She is growing like a weed and getting heavier each day. There are lots of things we need to work on with her though like moving her to the room and sleep in her crib permanently. She is still co sleeping with us at night and that I think the reason why Jake move to our room at the middle of the night because he was jealous of Justine sleeping with us. The stranger anxiety is normal at her age right now but still we need to work on that too and give her more exposure. She is just to attach to me and cling on me all the time. I also tried to discourage her thumbsucking habit but this little girl is too stubborn just like ehem! hehe.... Well, I always feel lucky and blessed with my lil girl and she always brings joy and happiness to our life. Both of them are and they completed me. Three months to go and she will be celebrating her first birthday.

Hello, Shy!
Your baby may be the most sociable young creature around — until somebody unfamiliar comes near. Many babies this age have begun to show signs of fear or shyness around strangers. Some even start withdrawing from familiar relatives and friends, and want to be close to no one but you. This phase can be so brief you barely notice it, or it may last for months, depending on your child's temperament.

--------

Baby fat, which helps maintain body temperature, reaches a peak around 9 months of age. It typically disappears during a baby's second year.

Justine on the Go

As I have mention in my previous post that Justine is crawling now and I'll post some videos of her crawling milestone and adventure. So, there you go guys Justine in action.

Tuesday night she started crawling like a frog chasing for the string.

Wednesday morning she chased her Kuya Jake to play with her princess computer we got at the garage sale. Look how mean the Kuya Jake was, to think it's the jelly bean's toy and he's not letting her play with it nor sharing with her toy. Jake's age right now is kind of egocentric which is common for toddler at his age. They are selfish and want everything all to themselves and doesn't want to share thats why we always encourage him to share toy with his sissy.

Alright the continuation hehe. So, Wednesday night she crawled faster chasing the remote control. All this crawling thing just happened in one day.

Now, she's crawling everywhere going, to the cable box, to the kitchen and as in eveywhere. Oh, boy! In just a matter of time and she'll be walking. Imagine how fast babies grow? I'm enjoying every minute of it. All my happy hours are now gone. Well, it's been gone since I got this two rascals. No more me time for me. It's tiring but it's fun and priceless. Have a fun weekend ya'll!

Poo-Poo

I have mention in some of my previous post that my little jelly bean have been having hard time pooping when we start to introduced solid food in the jar. It hurts me watching her crying while pooping as it was really hard to come out. And then when those bad boy came out it was so tiny like marbles. When baby gets constipated there's nothing we could do as parents but to find ways to help them and comfort them. That one time that she was trying to poop, while we were at Jake's room I put her in a potty hoping it will make the poop come out. She'd been sitting there for few minutes and as soon as I promp her to sit in the potty she stopped. Other thing I did was after she eats I gave her water and I let her drink more water to help the poop soften and easy to poop. Well, it helped because after six days of trying and constipation she finally poop a whole bunch.
This picture was one of his pooping adventure hehe. This is just part of her milestones as she grows she will learn how to handle it and once she gets used with solid food her poop will be back to normal.

6 Months Old Milestones

6 Months Old Justine

Justine turns 6 Months old today February 3, 2010. She is on track in her milestones and doing great everyday. She is good in rolling over and scooting little by little. Typical for a baby when they want to learn to crawl they scoot backwards instead of forwards and this is what my lil Jelly bean been doing. She is really cute when she scoot really hard trying to grab Jake's toy lying on the floor. One time Jake left his pritzels on the floor and I didn't know what or how Justine did as when we looked at her she already had the pritzels in her hand. It's funny sometimes when she scoot and of course her movement is going backwards until she reaches the side of the wall and she can't move anymore because it was the end of the room, she just cry and ask for help. She can also hold her bottle milk in few minutes and sit independently.

I'm glad her fever is gone now and not in pain and fussy anymore. She will have her doctor's appointment next week and apparently another tusok tusok (shot) again. Ouch! Anyway, Thanks to Sir Mel for the prayer.

Milestone charts: What you can expect from birth to age 3

Having an Internet is an advantage as we can find lots of information we could apply or referred with when raising our kids. As a new mom and parent, I am really clueless of what to expect when you have a baby and a toddler and how to raise them well. Good thing there are plenty of informative site on the web that we can check into and be updated with our kids milestones.

Babies grow in such unique ways: The baby who sits up weeks before her peers might be one of the last to learn how to crawl. Or the 18-month-old who's still communicating with grunts and gestures suddenly bursts forth with prepositional phrases at 2 years. That's why this series of charts is created so that parents will get some insights of their baby's milestones..

Since babies aren't identical — thank goodness! — the charts allow for variations in stages of development. Use them to gain insight into what you're observing in your baby today and to preview what you can look forward to in the months ahead.

One thing you shouldn't use the charts for, however, is grist for the worry mill. Each chart is meant as a guide, not as a source of concern.

For information about particular milestones, click on the links below or head to the baby, toddler, or preschooler development pages.

Five Months Old milestones

Your 5-month-old: Week 1
From babycenter.com
Your baby will soon master the art of sitting unsupported. Give your baby the opportunity to sit up in different places around the house -- sitting helps develop and maintain balance, a key part of physical development. What's more, the new perspective helps your baby's cognitive development.

Justine turns 5 months old today January 03,2010. I'm planning of weaning her from breast milk soon so, I start introducing formula to her. I mixed the formula to her cereal and she ate it but when I gave her the bottle milk she put a fight on it. She was sucking but murmuring and had finished 1 oz only. This is one of the many baby's milestones from breast milk to bottle milk. She also started biting my nipple when I nursed her. We have a very mischievous, manipulative, happy little jellybean.
